Nestled in the vibrant 11th arrondissement of Paris, Restaurant l'Artiste is a charming culinary haven that seamlessly blends tradition with a welcoming, unpretentious atmosphere. Carrying forward a legacy that began over 50 years ago with the owner's grandmother, this cozy bistro offers guests an authentic French dining experience accompanied by a warm sense of family history.
The cuisine at l'Artiste is a delightful journey through classic and contemporary French flavors, skillfully crafted to satisfy both the palate and the soul. Start with their inviting lineup of hearty main dishes such as the wok de poulet aux légumes — a vibrant medley of tender chicken, crisp snow peas, fresh spinach shoots, and crunchy bean sprouts, served alongside fragrant rice. Meat lovers will gravitate towards the expertly cooked entrecôte with pepper sauce paired with golden, house-made fries, or the robust and hearty saucisse fraîche d’Auvergne served either with a creamy, rustic aligot or the classic accompaniment of frites maison.
For those who seek lighter or vegetarian options, the lasagne végétarienne accompanied by a fresh green salad offers a satisfying balance of textures and flavors, while the perfectly seared longe de thon with crisp vegetables showcases the kitchen’s skillful attention to detail. The burgers are a standout on their own — especially the Burger l’Artiste, featuring smoky bacon, sharp cheddar, and crispy toppings, or the creamy and fresh Burger Avocado with perfectly cooked steak and crisp salad elements. Each burger arrives with golden, homemade fries that are simply irresistible.
The desserts at l'Artiste continue to charm with a selection of homemade ice creams in tempting flavors such as vanilla, caramel, pistachio, and coffee — the perfect sweet conclusion to an impeccable meal.
Dining here feels like a genuine Parisian experience, enhanced by the colorful tables and a relaxed vibe that suits any time of day — from morning coffee through to evening drinks. Guests consistently praise the friendly and efficient service, even during busy times, as well as the authentic, well-balanced flavors that elevate what might otherwise be considered simple dishes. The intimate setting makes it ideal for quiet lunches, lively group dinners, or casual catch-ups.
Whether you’re wandering through the bustling streets of Paris or looking for a reliable spot that embraces both heritage and quality, Restaurant l'Artiste offers a comforting, delicious escape. This is a place where every bite tells a story, and every visit feels like coming home.

Lovely little place. It’s unpretentious, the food is good, well above average for that type of place. The service was good although it was a very quiet lunch time so no reel challenge for the waitress.

Wait staff spoke excellent English. Roast beef lunch was very good. Only thing I don't care for there's no separation of smokes and non smokers. Even with outdoor seatings second hand smoke still quite prominent.

There are so many places to choose from when deciding to eat. We lucked out finding L’artiste! The service was exceptional (the owner’s grandmother opened the restaurant ~50 years ago, then it was passed down to his parents and now to him), the food was authentic and the wine was delicious

We visited L’Artiste with a large group and could not fault the service and food. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. Despite our group taking over most of this small restaurant, service was not slow and each course came out promptly. We would not hesitate to return to this restaurant if we visited Paris again.
